Hawaii University Degrees

When being a student you have a great opportunity to enter the University of Hawaii.
The Hawaii Territorial Legislature created the College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in Honolulu according to the U.S. land grant legislation in 1907. Very few students begin study with the staff of thirteen people in September in 1908.
Now it is called College of Hawaii and situated in Oahu’s Manoa Valley from 1912. William Kwai asked for granting the college a status of university resulting in the University of Hawaii establishment in 1920.
1931 year marked such events as absorption of Territorial Normal and Training School (another name is the College of Education) by the university and graduation of its first students with PhD and in Dr J. S. Phillips. After four years, Professor Gregg Sinclair established the Oriental Institute, now known as the East-West Center financed by the federal government.
Honolulu, Kapiolani, Kauai and Maui colleges were the first at the beginning of Hawaii’s community system in 1964. Throughout the islands there around 10 campuses and lots of centers for education, training and research works now.
Windward Community College, the William S. Richardson School of Law, Hilo College of Agriculture and University of Hawaii-West Oahu and then School of Architecture, School of Ocean and Earth Sciences and Technology joined the community soon.
Ed Pauley bought the Coconut Island, known also as the Gilligan’s Island with plenty of sea biology research. The college is famous in offering master’s degree that is first in the country concerning indigenous and Hawaiian languages. Another success of this university is clone of the Cumulina mouse.
